About I & A Partners
I & A Partners was founded on a simple belief: incentives matter.

In the mortgage industry, where plans are complex and margins are sensitive, compensation systems must do more than calculate payouts. They must support performance, protect profitability, and withstand operational complexity.

We deliver compensation infrastructure engineered for mortgage organizations, backed by the domain expertise required to design, govern, and operationalize it effectively.

The Trails That Guide Our Work
MOTIVATION
Incentives Shape Behavior
Compensation influences performance, culture, and accountability. It must be engineered intentionally.
DATA INTEGRITY
Clean Comp Starts with Clean Data
Even strong plan design collapses without structured data architecture and documentation.
TRANSPARENCY
Visibility Protects Profitability
Payout logic must be visible, auditable, and defensible to protect margin and trust.
FLEXIBILITY
Bend Without Breaking
The plans that win talent and drive production shouldn't have to be simplified to fit the system running them.
SCALABILITY
Sustainable Comp
Needs Infrastructure
Durable incentive programs are documented, repeatable, and resilient (not dependent on tribal knowledge).
The Team Behind I & A Partners
and the Creation of Elev8
ic
Some companies are built in boardrooms. Ours was built from the inside out.

In May 2025, Mari and John formed I & A Partners, LLC as a consulting firm. Mari had two decades inside mortgage compensation, designing plans, governing systems, and leading the teams responsible for getting it right. John had three decades designing and implementing financial systems across global organizations. Together, they determined the mortgage industry didn't need better advice. It needed better infrastructure.

Then came the phone call. On a Sunday in July 2025.
On the other end was Ben, a trusted collaborator and engineering manager with nearly a decade of mortgage technology experience. He shared the same vision and wanted to build a platform to prove it could be done differently. From scratch. No inherited assumptions about how it had always been done.
That call changed everything. Together, they made a deliberate decision to build Elev8ic: compensation infrastructure designed the way it should have been from the beginning. A founder who knew exactly what the industry was missing. A co-founder who knew exactly how to build it. And another co-founder with the experience to build the corporate foundation required to bring it to life.
Read on to meet the team they have built around that foundation.

Sr. Data Architect
Tim Darwish
Tim brings two decades of experience in database architecture and enterprise application management, including ten years focused on critical financial systems at institutions including Wells Fargo. He has deep expertise in mortgage origination data, data warehousing, and performance analytics, and is equally at home navigating legacy infrastructure or cutting-edge technology. Co-Founder & VP of Technology
Ben Crouch
Ben brings nearly a decade of software engineering and technical leadership experience built entirely within the mortgage industry. With a BS in Computer Science and a career progression from developer to senior developer to engineering manager, he has spent nine years at the intersection of mortgage analytics and technology. He understands how mortgage organizations operate. He knows what their systems need to do. And he has spent his entire career building exactly that.

Sr. Software Engineer
Nicky Chen
Nicky brings a decade of software engineering experience and a background that sets him apart. He started his career as a loan processor. That firsthand perspective shapes everything he builds. He specializes in dynamic user interfaces and functional application design, with a sharp eye for data visualization and statistics. A UC Berkeley graduate, Nicky brings both technical precision and a user's instinct to every feature he touches.

Co-Founder, Chief Administrative Officer
John Denton
John brings deep accounting and financial systems expertise built across global organizations and complex, multi-entity environments. His career progression from accounting to Director of Finance gave him hands-on experience with how financial systems must function to support accuracy, efficiency, and sound decision-making.
